(5) The pH value of the potassium formate drilling fluid is easy to adjust, and it is less corrosive to metals and rubber.
(6) The circulating pressure drop is small, easy to configure, and simple to maintain.
(7) Low viscosity, good fluidity, and small friction pressure loss, suitable for drilling small boreholes and formations that are easily lost.
(8) Strong inhibition, stable shaft wall and regular bore diameter.

The chlorine-free potassium neoformate drilling fluid system formed by adopting CH3COOK and K3PO4 instead of KCl as inhibitors in China has been applied to the eastern region successively with obvious results. The drilling fluid system is compounded and successfully applied in the 4x1 well in Zhuanghai, achieving high-quality properties such as low toxicity, high efficiency, anti-collapse, strong inhibition, and protection of gas reservoirs.
