1. Chelating effect on metal ions: daily washing water generally contains hardening metal ions (mainly Ca2+, Mg2+). Improve the function of gel solubility, emulsification and dispersion: dirt often contains human secretions (mainly protein and fatty substances) or industrial oil, as well as sand and dust from the outside. However, sodium tripolyphosphate has the effect of swelling and solubilization on protein and has the effect of gelation; It can promote emulsification of fatty substances; It can disperse and suspend solid particles.

3. Buffer effect: sodium tripolyphosphate has a large alkaline buffer effect, keeping the PH value of the washing solution around 9.4, which is conducive to the removal of acid dirt.

4. Function of preventing caking: powdered synthetic detergent is hygroscopic. If it is stored in a place with high humidity, caking will occur. Agglomerated detergent is extremely inconvenient to use. However, the hexahydrate formed by sodium tripolyphosphate after absorbing water has a dry characteristic. When there is a large amount of sodium tripolyphosphate in the detergent formula, it can prevent caking caused by moisture absorption and keep the dry and granular shape of synthetic detergent.


Sodium tripolyphosphate is also a surfactant. It can improve the wetting ability and decontamination ability of the cleaning agent by reducing the surface tension of oil and water, and increase the emulsification degree of oil.
